Verizon: Skype is now available for Pantech Crux, LG Octane and Samsung Zeal, too!

Just in time for the holiday season, Verizon added more phones to its Skype-enabled portfolio. The new devices that can sing along the popular VoIP service are Pantech Crux, LG Octane and Samsung Zeal — bringing the total Skype phone count to more than 20.

The carrier’s pitch is simple – folks with friends and family members living outside of the U.S. don’t have to pay a premium for international phone calls. They can use Skype instead to save some cash along the way. Skype to Skype calls are free, while calls to land and mobile phone lines cost much less. In addition, users can also chat with other Skype users from their (Skype supported) mobile phone.

You can download Skype Mobile from Media Center/Get It Now or Verizon Wireless’ online media store. Alternatively, there’s an option to text “SKYPE” to 2255 to get a message with the link to download.

Additional information and the full list of supported devices is available from this page on the carrier’s website.
