How-To: Bypass activation on your Samsung Galaxy Tab

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is finding its way into the hands of hundreds of thousands of users, but since most of those purchases are from carriers, there are data plans slapped on – and some of those have contracts (like the Sprint version). However, if the Galaxy Tab just fell into your lap one fine day and it didn’t have a data plan or contract tacked onto it, there is a way to bypass the activation screen so you can use your device with Wi-Fi only.

So, how do you do it?

Here’s the code: up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A. Just kidding.

To get on with your life and right past activation on your fancy new Android tablet, follow these instructions:

  1. Press “Volume Up” once.
  2. Press “Volume Down” twice.
  3. Press “Volume Up” three times.
  4. Press “Volume Down” four times.
  5. Enjoy!

Seems simple enough, right? If you’re having any trouble following those directions – whether they’re just too difficult or you’re having a hard time counting – feel free to call me any time, day or night, and I’ll walk you through it for a nominal fee.
