We’re not sure what to make of this new Google Nexus S video ad. The Nexus S is almost upon us, and it has many people wondering what Google will be doing to get the word out to the masses. Sure, there’s the partnership with Best Buy, but there’s only so much a retailer can do on its own. The Nexus One, with its online-online advertising moden turned into a flop when it came to sales figures. Has Google learned their lesson? Possibly. We’ve found a video ad that we could easily see making its way to a TV near.
The ad is simple and to the point, and doesn’t leave many questions as to what it’s advertising. Those unaware of Google’s Android version names may be somewhat confused to see “Gingerbread” flying around in the video, but that’s pretty much the only point of confusion we have with the ad. We know we’ll likely see some sort of ads from Best Buy, and we’d love to see another round of Samsung’s incessant tv ads about the Galaxy S line, only this time it’ll be the Nexus S.
So we know that Best Buy will be selling the device, and Samsung will be handling the customer support, will there be any advertisements for this bad boy? We were hoping to see a Nexus One TV ad during the last Super Bowl, but Google decided to take out an ad for the one thing they didn’t need to really advertise: Search. Now that the Nexus S official, we could actually see some decent ads for the Nexus S, like the one below.
Here’s to hoping they market the hell out of this thing. The Nexus One was an incredible handset, but it just didn’t get the attention it needed, due to its limited advertising model. Hopefully that model will change with the Nexus S, even if it’s not from the Big G themselves.
Would you want to see the Nexus S advertised on TV?
