Skype for Symbian has been out for quite some time now, but was still lacking support for the Nokia N8 – Nokia’s flagship device – the C7 and E5. However, just in time for the holidays, Skype has updated its app for Symbian so that even more users can get in touch with friends, family and loved ones over this season. The update includes Skype’s new technology, SILK, which is an audio codec that improves voice quality over calls.

Of course, if you didn’t already know, you can make calls over your carrier’s 3G network or over Wi-Fi. Additionally, Skype says on its blog:

The update also contains a number of interface improvements, making it easier to add contacts, navigate, add a photo to your profile and set your mood message. Additionally, we’ve updated the interface to better fit larger screens.

As always, the app is free to download, so go ahead and check out. See the link below for the option to download, and to see if your Symbian device is on the list of support handsets.
