Samsung unveils the LTE-enabled Galaxy Tab for Verizon Wireless [CES 2011]

Verizon Galaxy Tab with LTE

Samsung confirmed today that it will launch an LTE-enabled version of its Galaxy Tab for Verizon Wireless. The 4G version of the tablet will include a few notable upgrades including 4G connectivity and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, up from the 3-megapixel present on the original 3G Galaxy Tab. Rounding out the features of this now familiar tablet are  the following:

  • 7-inch enhanced TFT display with 1024 x 600 WSVGA resolution
  • 1.2GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird application processor
  • 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera
  • pre-installed LTE-specific applications which may or may not include Rock Band Mobile and Skype Mobile with video calling
  • Adobe Flash 10.1 support
  • Android 2.2

The LTE version of the Galaxy Tab is expected to debut in the first half od 2011 with an exact launch date and pricing to be announced at a later date. The full details on this exciting tablet are available in the press release which can be found on page two.
