It’s an iPad magazine craze out there. Rupert Murdoch wants to launch “The Daily“, while a former Newsweek editor started a new company Nomad Editions that will publish iPad-only magazines.
Now Ongo collaboration between The New York Times, the Washington Post, USA Today and others — is bringing its subscription news service to the iPad users. Available for $6.99 a month, the application (and the website for that matter) provides readers with the best of those papers and other media outlets that join up.
However, you don’t get access to all of the content for 7 bucks. Some of the content providers offer complete access, whereas other content is curated. For instance, select publications ask for an additional money per month, which could go up to $14.99 which is plain absurd considering you can get that (or similar) content for free from the Internet.
Everyone who signs up gets a free day pass to try out the goods before buying. Afterwards, you can pick content and content providers as you like…
