iPhone 4 pre-orders for Verizon customers went live slightly before 3 am and we were right in the middle of this iPhone-fueled buying frenzy. Thankfully, Verizon was prepared and the servers handled the initial load with ease. The process for ordering was exactly as was expected. You need to verify your status as a Verizon customer by logging in to your My Verizon account. Once logged in, you can select the line that you want to upgrade, select the iPhone model (16 GB or 32 GB), choose your plan, and fill in all the nitty-gritty payment and shipment details. Once the order is processed, you will receive your confirmation notice and bam!, you have now reserved the long-awaited iPhone 4.  Feels good doesn’t it?

Update: For those buying full retail, the Apple Store is selling both the 16 GB model for $599 and the 32 GB model for $699. These prices are $50 less than Verizon Wireless.

Verizon’s site might have initially been prepared, but as of 3:02 AM, an error page continues to appear… no luck for some of us!

I started at aprox 1 minute after 3, and this is all I have been able to get so far!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Sorry, an error has occured.

We’re working on getting this fixed as soon as we can.

      (Please try again)

The problem appears to be that you have to be the primary person on the account in order to make changes. It would help if the error message was more specific. Primary person’ login worked like a charm.
