A company called MoMinis wants to tackle the cross-platform mobile gaming. Following an extensive beta program, they launched what is said to be the industry’s “first wholly-agnostic game development and distribution platform publicly available.” Mobile games created within The MoMinis Studio automatically run on virtually all operating systems and are distributed to consumers through global built-in channels.

Interested developers can already sign-up to grab IDE and start making and publishing games across mobile platforms, including Android, Blackberry, Symbian and J2ME, with iOS scheduled to be added in the second quarter. MoMinis’ engine supports various screen resolutions, input methods and APIs. Developers also get to access all of the resources like tutorials and online community.

Once a game is completed, MoMinis supplies monetization channels via its online stores and global partnerships with operators such as NTT DoCoMo, Verizon, Telefónica, Orange, Turkcell and Vodafone. MoMinis Studio developers earn 70% of the net revenue generated from their games, and stand to earn 90%, if they take advantage of MoMinis’ so called “Promote Your Game Program.”

Sounds promising but unfortunately “we’ve heard it all before.” Isn’t this similar to what Flash promised to deliver? Moreover now we’re hearing the same pitch for HTML5-based apps and games…
