Field & Stream outdoor magazine is going for the iPhone users in partnership with mobile app publisher Zumobi, which will also launch an Android application in the near future.
The new app brings the latest news, tips and advice from the magazine to the on-the-go readers. Zumobi’s fancy interface makes sure everyone can easily navigate between categories, access feature stories, blogs, slideshows and videos on topics ranging from hunting and fishing to survival, gear and guns. Additionally, there’s the option to share content via popular social networking services like Facebook and Twitter.
Available as a free download, Zumobi and Field & Stream will get their cash from advertisers. The first company to jump on board is Ford, which promotes its brand new F-150 using Zumobi’s “app-within-an-app” rich media advertising technology called BrandBlast.
Commenting on the app launch, Field & Stream’s Eric Zinczenko said: “Our readers are passionate about their outdoor pursuits and we are passionate in our pursuit to get them the information they need. We are thrilled with our partnership with Zumobi to create this app, as it offers mobile access to our award-winning content to an even larger consumer group.”
