Poynt reaches 1 billion interactions, 6.4 million unique users

Poynt announced that over 1 billion consumer queries and resulting actions have been performed using the Poynt mobile local search application. The data includes searches within the app’s seven feature verticals – Businesses, People, Movies, Events, Gas, Restaurants and Weather as well as the behavioral data such as clicking to call, clicking to browse and mapping directions.

At the same time, the company also surpassed 6.4 million unique users, with the user growth accelerating during the month of February — there were an average of 30,000 new users daily during the month.

As you probably know, Poynt is made to connect consumers to local businesses, events, restaurants, movie theaters, gas prices and weather information. Aside from providing basic information, it also comes with interactive capabilities allowing users to view movie trailers and reviews, buy movie tickets, click-to-call businesses, get directions, browse listing websites and read reviews and book dining reservations.

Poynt mobile app is available on a number of platforms, including iOS, Android, BlackBerry and Windows Phone 7. Additionally, it can be accessed as a web service at m.poynt.com.
