As part of efforts to deliver the best user experience, Boxee is committed to release new firmware updates every 3 months or so. The upcoming update is set to be released in May and will include… drums please… the iPad support!

That’s awesome news for all of you who managed to grab the brand new iPad 2 and who also happen to own a Boxee unit connected to a TV set.

In addition, the May firmware update will also rock an enhanced browser with faster loading and scrolling, favorites and history; improved video playback (ffwd/rwd controls, new look for on-screen-display) and .nfo files support. Moreover, the interface will be available in additional languages, including French, German, Hebrew, Italian, Spanish and Swedish. Finally, Boxee said that a number of bugs as reported by users will be fixed.

The new firmware is almost ready and will be shortly sent to early access users to collect feedback on the build quality, new functionality and overall experience. Once the version is in a good shape Boxee will release it out to everyone.
