We’ve seen the broad strokes for the BlackBerry Touch 9860 (Monaco/Monza), the Torch 2 9810 (Jennings), the Bold Touch 9900 (Montana/Dakota), but the hardcore technical specifications for all three have just leaked. All of the major specs are confirmed, but there’s extra-gritty information here like FCC IDs, dimensions, regulatory compliance, codec support, and lots more.
As a refresher, all three will have 1.2 GHz and 768 MB of RAM, near-field communications built in for contactless payments, magnetic compasses to support augmented reality applications, and mobile Wi-Fi hotspot functions. The Torch 2 and the Bold Touch will both have 640 x 480 display (but measure 2.8 and 3.2 inches respectively), while the 9860 will have an 800 x 480 display at 3.7 inches. For some odd reason the 9860 is listed as a Torch, but that’s probably just a typo. A Qualcomm 8655 processor is identified on the Bold Touch, so it wouldn’t be surprising to see it being used in the other handsets as well. No LTE or WiMAX on any of ’em, unfortunately, but that’s a part of RIM’s strategy to make phones that appeal to everyone everywhere.
It’s been a busy week for BlackBerry, likely gearing up for the big conference at the beginning of May. Here’s the whole collection of specs sheets if you’re looking to chew through ’em.
