If CNN can do it, so can Fox News. The right-wing media powerhouse is going for the iPad users with a new free application, appropriately sponsored by ExxonMobil. As you can imagine, Fox News for iPad fully takes advantage of iPad’s big screen making news reading (and watching) a true pleasure — that’s of course if you enjoy Republican spin of the news. Heck even if you don’t, it’s good to know there’s another option available in the AppStore.
Feature wise, you can easily swipe through “Happening Now” for a quick glance of the latest news; browse articles, video clips and slideshows from foxnews.com and share them via Facebook, Twitter and email; add stories to favorites to save for later; watch live TV; and listen to Fox News Radio. Moreover, there’s the live FOX News Channel ticker so you can easily keep up with the top stories.
While announcing the new application, Fox News also mentioned their iPhone app was the most downloaded free news app of 2010, beating CNN and The New York Times. Its mobile website now has 12 million monthly unique visitors, up from 4 million a year ago…
Now they should also make an app for Android Honeycomb tablets if they want to “keep up with the Joneses” (i.e. CNN).
