Apple iOS 5.0 will have deep Twitter integration

Apple iOS 5.0 to have deep Twitter integrationI just stepped out of the WWDC 2011 keynote and Steve Jobs and company just showed off some interesting new features of iOS 5.0. One thing we wanted to point out is that the next version of the iOS software will have deep integration with Twitter.

This isn’t much of a surprise, as rumors suggested Twitter would be in iOS 5.0 but now it’s quick and easy for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users to send information to the micro-blogging service. The “Send to Twitter” option will be baked in to the camera, Safari and other apps. You’ll also be able to link it up to your contacts to help fill in some missing contact photos you may have.

This could wind up being a big deal, as the Twitter in iOS 5.0 appears to be pretty deep, so it may make things easier for developers to also hook in to without having to do too much extra work. I still am not sure if this is as big of a deal as if this was Facebook but I do know that this will make it much easer to share photos on Twitter.

I haven’t had too many problems with the Twitter for Android integration, so I look forward to this. What do you think, friends?
