All-touchscreen feature phone Samsung SGH-t528g coming to TracFone

TracFone will get a new all-touchscreen feature phone from Samsung. Model number SGH-t528g has been spotted at Samsung’s website all in its “feature phone glory.” Yep it doesn’t run Android, but Sammy’s own proprietary OS with widget-friendly TouchWIZ 2.0. In addition, there’s also a 3-inch display, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity, 2-megapixel camera that can take both photos and videos, Bluetooth and a battery which provides enough juice to keep the t528g running for up to 6 hours in talk and up to 10.5 days in standby mode. When it comes to pre-installed apps, there’s a web browser, media player, email and instant messaging clients, as well as social networking apps for users who like to cyber-schmooze while on the go.

We’ve no idea how much this phone will cost but considering the specs, it shouldn’t cost a fortune — quite the contrary, we’re talking about the price that shouldn’t cross $200 and that’s sans any long-term commitments.

Hey you got me all excited there for a second. So I jump onto the band wagon, rush to tracfone’s web site, and the most sophisticated phone they have, is an LG touchscreen feature phone – without the wifi (which is what get’s me rather excited). So, ok, this phone is far too browsy orientated for basic tracfone, maybe Straight talk, but again nothing…or at least that is for the Washington area. Anybody know when this phone will become available? And will it really be for basic Tracfone, or Straight talk – the latter making more sense to me.

Yeah, I can’t picture the low cell phone user with this phone as Tracfone plans are not as economical once you become a medium to heavy phone user or do allot of web browsing.

I was waiting for a long time to get the samsung sgh-t528 and was so exited about it. Now ST has it on their site for $99.99; however, it seems that this phone is not as good as I thought. One of those cheapy phones, exept it is a touch screen, that’s all it is. I prefer the Nokia E71. Correct me pls if I am wrong. Thanks

Just got the T528G & so far its ok. There sure aren’t alot of accessories for the T528G! (i.e. no protective silicone cases, no belt clips, no extended-run batterys w/an over-sized battery door). Also thought for sure Samsung.com would’ve provided a free Phone Manager and/or PhoneBook Manager Download program so I could easily transfer my old cell’s phone numbers into my new T528G via my PC! Lastly, the voice quality of the T528G sounds muffled….though that could be a Tracfone short-comming vs an actual T528G voice clarity/quality issue(?) Time will tell… (as I’ve only had the phone for a day) I truly hope Samsung provides future firmware support and doesn’t just close the curtain on the T528G now that its been released =)
