Just a few days ago we talked about leaked firmware (Android 2.3.4) for the original Galaxy S. That, however, doesn’t mean all of the Galaxy S flavors will get the same treatment. Take AT&T’s Captivate for instance, which still waits to get the Gingerbread treatment. The good news is that it will most likely get it in the near future, with SamFirmware catching the leaked Android 2.3.3 update. Interested and tech savvy users can already try it out by following the procedure on the site — the builds UCKE3 and UCKF1 can be flashed via Odin.
As always we advise you to backup all of your PIM data prior to updating. You should know this isn’t the official way to update hence it may void your warranty. You can’t hold IntoMobile and/or any of its employees responsible if something goes wrong (i.e. your Captivate is bricked) — this isn’t a step every user should take.
