Just a friendly reminder, folks, that the HP TouchPad, that sexy webOS tablet we’ve been waiting months for, is now available for purchase. If you’ve been longing for a decent alternative to the iPad or the swatch of Android tablets floating around, you might want to give the HP TouchPad a try. Early reviews have been lukewarm, but webOS 3.0 shows a lot of promise, and the hardware itself is pretty sexy.

Perhaps the big brick wall for most users might be its price point: the HP TouchPad retails for $499.99 for the 16GB model, and $599.99 for the 32GB beast. Compared to Android tablets, it’s priced reasonably well, but it doesn’t seem like anyone is coming close to the iPad 2 just yet.

Curious about the new tablet from the folks at HP? See the video below and be sure to check out our hands-on impressions here.
