Almost missed this, but since it’s important we’re covering it, nonetheless. Yep, Sprint’s Samsung Galaxy Tab got the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update (software version EF17), offering several improvements including fixes for VPN, Bluetooth HID support (for wireless keyboards) and Power Management enhancements.
If your current software version is EB28, you will receive a network notification for the EF17 software update. The update process will be performed over the air, hence it’s suggested to rely on a fast Wi-Fi connection to make things run smoothly.
Still didn’t get your Gingerbread fix? Head over to “Settings” and then tap “About My Galaxy Tab.” From here you will be able to see your current software version (if it’s not updated it should be EB28) and eventually push the device to check for updates.
As usual, we advise you to backup your data prior to pushing any “Update” buttons just in case something goes wrong. Don’t say I haven’t warned you. 😉
