CheckIn+ adds augmented reality twist to check-in services

You’ve probably already used some check-in app/service like Foursquare, Gowalla or even Facebook Places (available from within the Facebook app). They’re all pretty similar, allowing you to tell your followers and/or friends where you are at any particular day. On the other hand, you can see which places are popular and where your friends at on a map.

CheckIn+ is a new iOS app that wants to add augmented reality twist to such services. It relies on Foursquare and Facebook Places to “make sense” of the world around you. Suddenly you can see where people you know have been before on a camera view.

Sounds cool though you should know there’s already the Foursquare layer for popular augmented reality browser – Layar. As you can imagine, it too will show hot spots around you.

Anyway, I presume CheckIn+ is easier to use. It’s available in two flavors – as a free, ad-supported app; and as a paid version which has no ads at all. You can get both versions from the links below.
