Zinio’s Android app, which has recently been unveiled for Honeycomb tablets, is no longer limited to select few markets. Rather, users from all around the world can now access and read various magazines from their phones and tablets.

The application requires that your device runs Android 2.2 or higher, meaning pretty much any smartphone or tablet bought this year will do the job just fine. If you’re in the “affected group,” grab Zinio today and enjoy 12 free magazines that come preloaded with the app. That should give you the idea what to expect from Zinio and if you like what you see/read, you can easily subscribe to keep receiving magazines.

My take on magazines on mobiles – even though modern smartphones rock big 4+ inch screens, I’m not sure I’m willing to read them on my phone. However, reading magazines on a tablet is completely different story, with all the additional screen estate you get. Then again, that’s just me – are you willing to read magazines on your phone?
