We all know that Windows Phone Mango is coming this Fall but a new report from Pocket Lint suggests that it will officially roll out beginning Sept. 1, just in time for the IFA tradeshow.

Pocket Lint doesn’t name its sources but they’ve been pretty reliable in the past and the time frame does make a lot of sense, as the IFA trade show will enable handset makers like HTC, Samsung and others to show off the next generation of devices. Microsoft also first showed off elements of Windows Phone Mango way back in February at Mobile World Congress, so it has had enough time in the oven.

If you forgot, Windows Phone Mango will include many improvements to the platform which could make it on par with iOS and Android including deep integration with Twitter, full third-party multitasking, deeper hooks into the SkyDrive cloud storage service and multiple tools which will let developers make better apps.

Let’s hope this rumor is true, as I can’t wait to get some Mango.

    But when is Tango due?

How about the first big release after Tango?

Mango still keeps WP7 phones at barely feature phone level.

When will MS really upgrade WP to challenge the competition? 2012? 2013?

I don’t know. I’m not sure what MS is trying to do with Tango – having the “Starter edition” sounds like an awful idea because WP7 NoDo will be fine on low-end hardware starting next year. Not sure what’s going on
