Good news for those of you with the HTC Flyer looking to get Honeycomb on their 7-inch tablet. No, the Taiwanese company hasn’t launched the official update; rather this is the unofficial ROM that will get the Flyer run the tablet-optimized version of the Android OS.
The developer behind this project is Paul O’Brien, who warned everyone this is a “very early beta” build and could cause some units to brick. So if you do feel adventurous and think you have the tech know-how to proceed, make sure to backup all of your data prior to proceeding. We at IntoMobile can’t be held responsible for any loss of data or bricked devices — I just had to add that disclaimer. 🙂
Finally, it’s important to add this won’t work with the HTC View 4G, which is Sprint’s version of the tablet. Hopefully we won’t have to wait for too long to get the official Honeycomb update…
