Is this HTC Rhyme ad brilliant or awful?

I know that I’m probably not the target demographic for the HTC Rhyme on Verizon so I’m going to throw it to the wisdom of the crowds in determining if this ad is awful, great, creepy or a mix of the three.

In the ad, a multi-armed lady uses the device for various parts of her life and it also places an emphasis on the charm which can hang out of your purse. There’s something about her blank, life-less face which creeps me out and approaches Pre ad levels.

Alright friends, let us know what you think in the comments.

it too reminded me of the spectacularly awful Palm Pre ads that basically ruined that phone’s launch.  it appears some people never learned…

It’s a play of the Hindu god Shiva, which in most sects is believed to be the all-knowing and most powerful of the gods.

If it was Jesus, that would be offensive. But this is acceptable?

I see most people will post a negative comment
faster than a positive one. Here’s my take, it is aimed at a certain
demographic and that’s okay, the music, the goddess I think is a great theme.
It is done tastefully and I hope not offensive to other cultures, which it’s
most likely, not marketed towards. This is a product I would not buy
personally, wrong demographic, but I like the commercial, it’s sort of hypnotic
and mesmerizing. Wouldn’t mind knowing who the girl behind those arms is? I
rate it 8 thumbs up, her 6 and my 2.
