Best Buy will offer HTC Flyer for $300 on October 6th

Presuming you still haven’t grabbed the Apple iPad and for some reason don’t want the Amazon Fire for some reason (too much customizations on top of Android, privacy concerns?), maybe you’ll be interested to grab the HTC Flyer for less. Best Buy is reportedly planning to slash the price of HTC’s 7-inch tablet on October 6th, offering it for $299.99 sans any contracts. According to a “knowledgeable insider” at Best Buy, the ad materials have already been prepared and the deal is pretty much locked at this point.

Now what do we take from this… Well, even though it sounds sweet, I don’t think Best Buy will be able to move that many Flyer units. For one thing, HTC’s tablet still doesn’t rock Honeycomb and since it has a single-core processor (unlike the Amazon Fire), it could prove obsolete when Android Ice Cream Sandwich launches. I may be wrong, though. What do you say? Are you willing to pour out $300 on a 7-inch tablet with HTC Sense UI?
