Apple iPhone 4S preorders top 1 million units in 24 hours

When Apple unveiled the iPhone 4S there were some of you who felt disappointed by it but there appears to be a lot of people who are very, very happy with it. The next Apple smartphone went on pre-order last Friday for AT&T, Sprint and Verizon and Apple said it has already sold more than 1 million units in 24 hours.

“We are blown away with the incredible customer response to iPhone 4S,” said Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, in a prepared statement. “The first day pre-orders for iPhone 4S have been the most for any new product that Apple has ever launched and we are thrilled that customers love iPhone 4S as much as we do.”

The Apple iPhone 4S will sport a 3.5-inch Retina Display, a dual-core A5 processor, an 8-megapixel camera and it will launch with iOS 5 and iCloud. The device will go on sale for all Oct. 14 and you can be sure that it will sell a lot of units.
