T-Mobile's VoIP service Bobsled gets web and mobile apps, dial-out functionality

T-Mobile updated its VoIP service Bobsled with new features. The new functionality provides users with an easy way to call Facebook friends from most desktop browsers, Android-powered smartphones and tablets, as well as Apple iOS devices. In addition, the service now provides users with free calls to any mobile or landline phone number in the U.S, Canada or Puerto Rico from inside or outside the U.S. from a desktop browser.

Once signed into Bobsled in your browser, you get to call, message or voice message with your Facebook buddies for free. Dialing is not part of the equation – all you have to do is click on a friend’s name to start the conversation. Similarly, you don’t have to remember screen names to text or call a friend.

When it comes to mobile apps, these allow users to call or voice message their Facebook friends for free. Dial-out functionality is still not included in the iOS and Android apps, but we’re hoping that’s something that will be on agenda for some future app updates…
