A company called PadInTheCity is running a neat business, renting 3G iPads to interested tourists in Madrid, Spain to help them get around the city. Each iPad comes preloaded with a number of applications and unlimited data — all for 25 EUR per day. That’s kinda steep especially for those staying longer in the capital of Spain.

However, just because something is expensive, it doesn’t mean there are no interested customers. Quite the contrary – the business is booming for PadInTheCity, which even got some customers forwarded by Apple. Heck, their goal is to expand to other places like London and New York.

I like the idea, even though I’m not actually the customer they’re looking for. 25 EUR gets you a prepaid Yoigo SIM card with a ton of mobile data. And if you install apps at home, that should be good enough to get you around the city. Heck, that’s how we get around Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress. ;)
