We’ve been talking about the Viper SmartStart for few times in the past. The handy app/accessory combo allows users to start, lock, unlock, locate and monitor their vehicle from their smartphones, including the iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices. Well, they’re running a neat promotion, offering a $100 mail-in rebate at select retailers and on the web.

Everyone who purchases a Viper or Directed SmartStartGPS system at a retail price of $299 or higher, along with a 3-year SmartStartGPS Premium service plan at a participating retailer will be eligible for the $100 mail-in rebate. Purchases must be made between November 1, 2011 and January 31, 2012, and complete details are on the rebate form, which is available in stores and online.

In addition, Viper is in the midst of the “Win a Free SmartStart” sweepstakes, allowing interested folks to win a complete SmartStart security and remote start system, plus Polk Audio home entertainment products, together worth an approximate retail value of $5,000. Nice! 😉
