Everyone in the tech world is expecting the ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer Prime will be up for sale sometime in mid-December, but new light has been shed on an even earlier release. A pre-order page on Newegg surfaced showing a more specific launch date of Dec. 8 for its release. This news comes after other major retailer sites have put the tablet up for pre-order.
For those of you who have forgotten, here’s some specs for the beastly ASUS’ Eee Pad Transformer Prime slate:
- 10.1 inch LED display with Super IPS+ (1280×800)
- 8.3mm thin
- Gorilla Glass
- hydro-oleophobic coating for fewer smudges and easier cleaning
- 1.2 megapixel front-facing camera
- 8 megapixel shooter with a F2.4 aperture and LED flash
- 1080p HD video capture
As you can see, this Tegra 3 powered Android tablet is incredible and people are dying to get their hands on this thing. The base model of the Transformer Prime starts at 32GB and will run you $499. This isn’t bad considering the lesser powered iPad 2 16 gigger will run you the same price. Unfortunately, ASUS hasn’t said a thing about an official launch date, so users will just have to pre-order it and wait for the thing to ship (hopefully sooner than later).
