Magisto, the web-based service that automatically turns your unedited video into a fully produced clip, is launching an iPhone app, to create the “world’s smartest video camera.” Using the free to download application, all users have to do is select a title, a soundtrack and start recording (or use an existing clip from the library). Magisto on its part will do all the hard work, analyzing the video to understand what is happening and take the best portions to create a professional quality movie complete with transitions, effects, and highlights all synched to your soundtrack.

Sounds too good to believe? Check out the following examples created with Magisto: X-mas display, Tornado chasing in Kansas, and Sunset skateboard cruise. Don’t they look awesome? And no – they were NOT created by professionals.

Yeah, you do want Magisto running on your iPhone to create clips you’ll be proud to share with the world. Simply search for “Magisto” in the AppStore and take it from there…

UPDATE: My bad, I haven’t understood Magisto’s blog post. The launch is slated to happen within the next few weeks to one month.
