LTE-based Huawei Ascend P1 in development?

Huawei used the CES in Las Vegas to show the world it can make high-end smartphones, demonstrating its pretty solid Ascend P1 and Ascend P1 S devices. We were especially impressed with the P1 S model, since it was announced as the world’s thinnest dual-core Android smartphone. The P1, on the other hand, is slightly ticker, making a room for bigger battery.

According to Japanese Blog of Mobile website, that extra space could also be used for an additional radio – LTE. That’s right, the Chinese company may actually release a 4G-enabled smartphone, something that would give it a spot in the “first league of handset makers.”

Now this is all speculation at the moment — we’ve don’t have a word from Huawei to support this claim — but it’s good that we’re even talking about it. I’ve no doubts Huawei wants to play the game with the big boys and adopting LTE is the way to do that.

We’ll keep our eyes wide open and let you know as soon as we spot something new on this. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
