There’s no secret that Research In Motion’s future has been cloudy for awhile now, but underneath the fog is a company who’s quietly been equipping many of its devices with NFC capability. Although a chip resides in some of it devices, a mobile wallet application has yet to appear on the BlackBerry OS until now. The BlackBerry maker along with Turkish cell phone network Turkcell partnered up to launch the Cep-T Cüzdan mobile payment system on the Bold 9900.

Much like Google Wallet, RIM’s system will work with MasterCard PayPass terminals both domestically and internationally, but there are slight limitations. For instance, payments of up to 35 TL ($19) can be completed instantly, while bigger transactions will require a PIN or signature, which is limits Google’s mobile payment option doesn’t have.

The BlackBerry mobile payment service is available starting today. Unfortunately, it’s not available for the United States, as Research in Motion have yet to announce if the mobile wallet app will become available to BlackBerry customers stateside. That said, if you’re a customer of Turkcell, you can head into a Turkcell store to get an NFC-enabled SIM for your phone.

Any Turkish readers out there planning to give this mobile wallet app a go? Please let us know in the comment section below.
