HTC, one of the top Android phone makers is believed to be cooking up some impressive new features with the launch of its upcoming custom user interface, Sense 4.0. This new custom UI will likely be an overhaul compared to the last version (Sense 3.5), users can expect improved typography, displays widgets, and data.
Also, Sense 4.0 will supposedly position tabs depending on device orientation and display button functions to cut confusion. According to PocketNow, other new features include:
- Email – HTC’s updated email client will deliver seamless threaded messages, improved push support that’ll pull up new messages depending on your usage patterns.
- Guest Mode – Is a feature which allows HTC smartphone owners to specify what can be accessed if someone else is browsing their device.
- Camera – The camera app is greatly improved with a smart new feature that should prevent a photo from being ruined by a person blinking. When it detects faces, the camera will take five consecutive photos and intelligently pick the best photo.
- DropBox – Sense 4.0 will have “deep integration” of the popular cloud service DropBox. The cool thing about this is new users who set up the phone for the first time, get 50GB of space for free, as DropBox storage will be handled like another drive on the phone.
What should also be noted is HTC will have more enhancements when it comes to Beats audio. Honestly, I’m not a big fan of skins (custom UI’s) but these rumored additions sound pretty impressive. The camera feature sounds cool and the “deep integration” of DropBox is awesome, as it totally negates the need for more internal and external memory, which ultimately saves customers money.
What’s your thoughts about the rumored Sense 4.0?
