Lenovo confirmed that its business-centric ThinkPad tablet will get the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update during the second quarter of this year. Unfortunately they failed to send us the exact date, leaving us some 3 months to speculate. Guess they don’t know for themselves when the new software will be ready for the general public.

It’s good to see the Chinese giant trying to keep its devices up to date, and this is especially important with all of their products wearing the famous ThinkPad logo. However, they also said the lower-end IdeaPad will get the same treatment, though again we don’t know when exactly that will happen.

We look forward to see all of the major smartphone and tablet makers releasing their Android 4.0 update schedules in the coming weeks. Heck, during the forthcoming Mobile World Congress we expect to see some of them launching devices with preloaded Ice Cream Sandwich. Can’t wait to visit Barcelona again. 😉
