Acer was quick to make its (relatively) recently launched Iconia Tab A200 more appealing. The Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update is rolling as we speak, with most A200 users reporting to get the latest software (build number Acer_AV041_A200_1.037.00_PA_CUS1). If you still haven’t got it, tap “Settings,” then “About tablet,” “System update” and finally “Check now.” Don’t worry if it’s not there yet – we’re sure it’s coming any day now.
Now it’s all nice to see Acer promptly responding to users’ needs to run the latest version of the platform, but I’m not sure that will help the Taiwanese company move a critical number of tablets. In order to succeed, they need to innovate more, releasing some special products like Asus does. I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants a device like the Asus Transformer Prime, which works both as a tablet and as netbook/smartphone. Why other companies don’t realize this is beyond me. What do you say?
