Sony Xperia S gets PlayStation Store

Good news for heavy mobile gamers with a brand new Sony Xperia S smartphone – you can now access the PlayStation Store from your smartphone. Simply tap the PS store placeholder link in the app tray and you’ll be redirected to a web page from where you can/should download the PlayStation Store and PS Pocket apps.

Before that you need to make sure third-party apps can be installed on your Xperia S by hitting Settings -> Applications and then checking “Allow installation of non-Market applications.” You’re almost ready to go, after you get yourself a PlayStation Network or Sony Entertainment Network account which is required to access Sony’s gaming catalog. Yeah all this sounds like a pain, but it’s really not that complicated.

Presuming you’ve followed all the steps, you will now be able to access about a dozen PlayStation games, though some of them are reportedly available for Xperia Play only. Guess that will change soon alongside support for additional Sony PlayStation-certified devices like the Xperia P, Xperia U, Xperia Ion and the brand new Xperia sola…
