Rogers Wireless will likely be the first Canadian carrier to offer the shiny new HTC One X. Unfortunately (or not – depending how you look at things) they’ll offer the dual-core model, the one that gets its power from Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 processor. It’s still super fast but nothing says you’re super geek like quad core.
Don’t worry, the Tegra 3 version will also be available though at the moment you’ll have to grab the unlocked device. One of Canada’s largest electronics retailers NCIX.com is taking pre-orders for HTC’s beastphone, asking you to shell out whopping $799. It’s an HSPA+ model capable of theoretical download speeds of up to 42Mbps. Not LTE but definitely not bad.
A word of caution – NCIX.com says that once you purchased the One X, it cannot be exchanged. “Final sale only. No returns or refunds.” Kinda tricky but I guess something’s gotta give if you want to earn some respect in the geek universe. 😉
