You’ve probably heard folks have problems with GPS on their Asus Transformer Prime tablet turned netbook. Moreover, you probably already know the Taiwanese company acknowledged the problem and has tried fixing it with software updates. That, however, hasn’t solved the issue and now they’re going for the hardware fix in a form of the GPS-improving attachment that will most likely connect to the tablet’s USB port.
“It needs around two weeks for the shipping after registration online,” Asus said in a statement to AllThingsD. So if everything goes as planned, the company will officially announce its plans on April 16, inviting owners to register for the free kit.
We like the fact that Asus is doing something about this issue, but don’t want any friggin external antennas. Then again, you may use this only when in a vehicle or when visiting a foreign country so that’s not a chore… Right?
