Sony’s Tablet S is getting its serving of Ice Cream Sandwich as we speak. At the moment we’re not sure which markets are included in the first queue, but since the new software is there, it’s likely that every Tablet S owner in the world will get the update during the next couple of days or weeks.

Here’s what the new software brings:

  • Enhanced lock screen with direct access to notifications and the ability to unlock directly to camera
  • New panoramic camera mode
  • Updated Gallery media viewer with direct SD card access and photo editing tools
  • Small apps like Calculator, Browser and Remote Control
  • New Home Screen actions, including ability to drag icons together to create folders and add names to folders
  • Enhanced web browser with option to switch from mobile to desktop web sites, and save pages for offline viewing
  • Access files directly from SD card
  • Native screenshot capture

In other words, as soon as your Tablet S prompts you to update, press the friggin’ button and take it from there. 😉
