Not much of a shocker here: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the first phone to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. This little tidbit of information can now be found when you’re buying the handset from the Google Play Store. When you check out to finalize your purchase, a part of the description details that the Galaxy Nexus will soon be the first phone to receive Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

It’s not surprising that the handset will be the first phone to receive the update, as that’s one of the best benefits about owning a Nexus device. Jelly Bean may indeed introduce some nice new features but we can imagine that since it’s only a .1 update that it won’t be anywhere near as dramatic as the 2.3 to 4.0 update was.

While the Galaxy Nexus may indeed be the first phone to get Android Jelly Bean, we may see the latest version of the OS land on the Nexus tablet first, which is rumored to be announced at Google I/O 2012 on June 27th – 29th. We’re still a little iffy as to what the next version of Android will bring, but we expect a few cosmetic changes and likely Google’s own voice assistant to take on Apple’s Siri.

We’re only a few days away until all is revealed about Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, so stay tuned!
