A day that when we get to speak positively about RIM is a commodity. Well, today some leaked photos of how BlackBerry Messenger may appear on the company’s new operating system BlackBerry 10 have surfaced.
The Canadian handset maker is working hard on the proper usage of OLED screens in the company’s future lineup of smartphones. What you will notice in the pictures is a new BBM that features configurable color themes, including options for a darker appearance that reduces battery use. This strategy could potentially push power savings to 75 percent, which is below normal consumption rates.
This gives us all some kind of look into what RIM cares most about — an efficient BBM on BB10 is one of those focuses. If you look at this objectively, you can see the positives in vastly improving the BBM experience. Lets face it, people still love the messaging service, and if RIM can improve its functionality it can be a refreshing feature for BlackBerry 10 to hang its hat on.
No matter what side of the mobile OS world you reside on — one thing remains clear — users love a good messaging experience and awesome battery life. If RIM nails down those two essential qualities, consumers will take note.
