This time the juicy rumor comes from DigiTimes, which quotes industry sources that say Google is not only purchasing 7-inch touchscreen panels for its new Nexus 7 tablet, but also plans to place an order for 10-inch screens. According to the Taiwanese website, the search giant is sourcing one glass solutions (OGS) from multiple companies, including Wintek, TPK Holding’s Cando and AU Optronics. Wintek alone already shipped 500,000 7-inch screens to Google and is expected to top 1 million units by the end of July.

Nothing is confirmed at this stage and as far as we know Google may never launch a 10-inch tablet. Then again, it’s good to know that rumors for the Nexus 10 (presuming that’s how a 10-inch tablet will be called) have already started. Personally I would like to see Nexus 8.9 and a keyboard dock (as well as some other accessories) for the Nexus 7 before any new tablet is unveiled.
