Well what do you know – Verizon Wireless will soon launch the LG Optimus Vu. Not that we’re surprised or something — after all, we’ve seen the phablet getting FCC’s seal of approval three weeks ago and now the first shots of the Vu with Verizon branding have been caught in the wild.

Anyway, we’re not sure whether the version Verizon will get is the new Optimus Vu 2 or the original Vu. Something tells me they have the improved model, which will come with the newer Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, as well as LTE connectivity support and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich pre-installed (with Jelly Bean update most likely coming later in the year).

So expect a device with a 5-inch 1024×768 HD IPS screen, 1GB of RAM, 8-megapixel camera on the back, 1.3-megapixel front-facing one, 32GB of storage and so on. If I had to guess a number, I would say the Big Red carrier will ask some $199-$249 for the phone/tablet along with user’s commitment on a two-year contract. We’ll make sure to follow-up on this story and let you know as soon as we hear something new. Stay tuned in the meantime, k?
