Don’t say we haven’t “told you so.” Canada’s Rogers Wireless is now officially selling the Sony Xperia ion, asking $49.99 for the device on a three-year contract. Sans any long-term commitments, the price is $549.99, and there are also not-that-affordable one- and two-year contract options, costing $499.99 and $449.99, respectively.
Again, the Xperia ion is the best Android smartphone ever made by the Japanese giant. It rocks a 4.6-inch 720p screen, 1.5GHz dual-core processor, awesome 12-megapixel Sony Exmor R camera on the back, 3G/4G (LTE) and Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS, Bluetooth, 16GB of built-in memory and a microSD card slot. Android 2.3 Gingerbread is (still) running the show, with the Ice Cream Sandwich update (and perhaps Jelly Bean) coming later in the year.
