Google kills off mobile blog to give you more Android

Today on Twitter, @GoogleMobile tweeted that it would be “closing up shop”.  The blog will now be replaced with an official Android blog to keep you up to date with new announcements and other mobile related news.

We’re closing up shop. From now on, tune into other product accounts (goo.gl/3ZUvr) or @android for all your Google mobile news.

The Google Mobile Team’s last post can be found below.

“A few months ago, we asked what content you wanted to see more of on the Google Mobile Blog, and the answer was quite clear: more Android! We launched +Android on Google+ and now we’ve launched the Official Android Blog, a new place for you to find all the latest news from the Android team.

Going forward, the new Android Blog will be a must-read for anyone interested in the latest news like today’s Google Wallet announcement. Thanks for being such a great audience over the years.

Killing off the Google Mobile blog is more surprising than Google launching its own Android blog, but we’re sure to welcome it. Sure beats just having the Developer Blog.

So make sure to stop over and check out the official Android Blog below!
