Koodo to offer prepaid services through Walmart Canada

TELUS’ sub-brand Koodo Mobile is apparently preparing for an aggressive back-to-school assault. The rumor is that the MVNO will team-up with Walmart Canada, offering an array of prepaid plans and devices to budget shoppers.

The story continues saying that Koodo and Walmart will launch their stuff on August 20th, offering the LG Optimus One for $98.83 and Samsung Galaxy Ace for $148.83. Moreover, an array of prepaid rate plan packages will also be available with $15 getting you unlimited text, $25 for unlimited text and 7PM evenings and weekend, $35 add unlimited incoming calls to the mix, while $50 – unlimited local calling and text.

Minutes will be sold in “units” and can be rolled over to the next month: 1 unit is good for 1 minute of Canada-wide calling; 2 units get you 1 minute calling with the United States; and 5 units – 1 minute of international calling. Price wise, 25 units will go for $5, 100 units – $10, and 500 units – $25. Finally, when it comes to data, 100MB will cost $10, 500MB – $25, and 1GB – $35.
