Canada: Motorola Defy Pro now available from Rogers Wireless

As expected, the Motorola Defy Pro is now available in Canada with Rogers Wireless offering it for free on a three-year contract or for $274.99 sans any long-term commitments. As you probably know from our previous posts, the Defy Pro is a rugged, IP67-certified smartphone with a physical QWERTY keyboard beneath a 2.7-inch HVGA touchscreen. In that sense, it’s ideal for potential BlackBerry converts who still can’t imagine owning a phone without all keys.

Rest of the specs include a 1GHz single-core processor, 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, VGA front-facing one, 1700mAh battery, while Android 2.3 Gingerbread is running the show. It’s hard to imagine the Defy Pro will ever get the Ice Cream Sandwich update though I’m sure there are unofficial ways to make it run Android 4.0.

So what do you say? Are you willing to try this out or you prefer something much better that usually has a bigger screen and no physical buttons whatsoever?
