Apple confirmed today that it will start accepting pre-orders of the iPhone 5 at 12:01 AM PT on September 14. Besides Apple, customers can also secure their handset by pre-ordering directly from Sprint or Verizon. Sprint announced it will kick off sales at 12:01 AM, while Verizon will start a minute earlier at 12:00 AM PT. AT&T has not yet officially confirmed a pre-order starting time. If history is any indication, be prepared for slow servers and glitches during the checkout process.

If you miss the pre-order window, don’t worry as you can still buy an iPhone in Apple retail stores starting September 21.
