MasterCard released a Mobile MasterCard PayPass User Interface Software Development Kit (UI SDK) for Android and BlackBerry OS 7 to help card issuers, carriers and third party developers to rapidly build mobile applications that give consumers the speed and convenience of PayPass Tap-and-Go contactless payments. The toolkit provides everything software developers need to create contactless payment solutions for Android and BlackBerry users, including API code libraries, sample UI application code, white-label reference UI application, developer guide, API specification documentation, as well as test suite to ensure compliance.

Using these tools, interested parties will be able to integrate Mobile MasterCard PayPass into a proximity payment mobile UI application, a mobile banking application or a mobile wallet application. Moreover, with the White-Label Reference UI, financial institutions can create a contactless mobile application within their own branded app.

As an end user, you should expect to see new apps (as well as updated existing apps) that allow you to make contactless transaction with nothing but your phone…
