TechThoughts prepared an excellent analysis predicting the number of iPhone 5 units Apple will sell in the next year. Here are the highlights…

Based on the Q4 sales estimate of 22 million units and the QoQ shipment growth trends, Apple could sell 60-70 million units in the Americas over the next four quarters.

In Europe, Apple is predicted to move 14 million units in Q4 and 40-50 million over the next four quarters.

Japanese users will buy an estimated 4.4 million iPhone 5 units in the fourth quarter, and 10-13 million in the next year.

As for the APAC region, Q4 sales are estimated at 9.6 million units and 35-45 million units in the next four quarters.

TechThoughts’ methodology seems pretty solid to me and if you’re into sales figures I can’t but recommend you to check out their complete report. It’s good stuff…
